What I Write

I write characters who triumph over trauma—not because it makes for dramatic plots, but because transformation is never guaranteed and the cost is always higher than anyone expects.

My characters don't get easy redemptions. They make impossible choices, face consequences, and sometimes self-destruct trying to survive. Athletes crumbling under expectations they can't name. Veterans fighting wars that don't end when they come home. Families fracturing under unspoken wounds that span generations.

These aren't research projects. I've lived this—as a competitive athlete, building and betting everything on ventures that could destroy me, and through deep relationships with veterans who opened up to me in ways they couldn't with their families or therapists.

My father died of Alzheimer's. I watched what that disease does to families. But Forgive & Forget isn't about my father—it's about the ones who DON'T deserve care. The abusive parents who terrorized their families. What happens when Alzheimer's transforms a monster into a gentle stranger? Do you care for someone who hurt you, just because they no longer remember doing it?

That tension between who we are and who we're trying to become—that's where the stories live.
